Guard the Integrity of Our Proposal Process

Southland is committed to compliance in connection with anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws in every jurisdiction where Southland operates. Since bribes and kickbacks can subject Southland and individuals to criminal liability, such practices are strictly forbidden.

A bribe is defined as providing something valuable, either directly or indirectly, to another person in order to influence that person’s decision made on behalf of a business or another person. A kickback is defined as something valuable given, directly or indirectly, as a reward for awarding business to a party-referring business or for making a favorable decision in favor of a business or person.

Southland has a zero-tolerance policy concerning the making or receiving of bribes and kickbacks. Employees must exercise great caution to be certain that any gifts, benefits, entertainment, or other things of value offered, given or received, are in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and company policy and that they are not bribes or kickbacks, nor are they perceived to be so.

Another area in which we must guard the integrity of the competitive process concerns discretion and vigilance in protecting proprietary information. There is never a scenario in which confidential information in pursuit of a bid can be shared with external parties outside of Southland. In other words, leaking information to a competitor is never appropriate or justified.
