Meaning What We Say: How to Report Ethical or Legal Noncompliance
Embracing our Ethics Code and Culture
The core values referenced in this Ethics Code summarize what Southland expects of all personnel to maintain a business based upon honesty and professionalism. Our employees are Southland’s most coveted asset and are critical in growing and protecting our business. Southland hires top talent and each of us is expected to act like owners and be leaders. Accordingly, it is incumbent upon each of us to notify the company when there is a suspected violation of ethical standards or law.

Southland Supports Transparency & Reporting
There are many ways Southland encourages a People First culture, including encouraging employees to “speak up” (e.g., if you see something you suspect is serious, say something). We want to ensure our employees have several options to ask, raise an ethics issue, or report a violation of our Ethics Code.
Option 1: An employee can and should report violations to his or her supervisor or manager.
Option 2: If an employee is not comfortable speaking with his or her supervisor, he/she can report the issue to Human Resources, the Legal Department (Southland.Legal@southlandind.com), or any another member of the senior leadership or executive team. Southland is both proud and committed to our “open door” policy. Our corporate leadership will always be accessible and visible for serious issues.
Option 3: An employee can use the company’s Confidential Ethics Hotline by emailing southlandind.ethicspoint.com or calling 1.855.791.1338. The Hotline is maintained by an outside vendor and use of the Hotline will be confidential and will preserve your anonymity. If the Hotline or online reporting system is used, please provide substantial details, so that Southland may investigate properly.
Option 4: Another alternative is to report the issue via mobile app at southlandindmobile.ethicspoint.com.
Southland Does Not Tolerate Retaliation
Southland takes pride in maintaining a workplace environment where employees are encouraged to speak up. That means that reports of suspected violations or violations will not result in any retaliatory action by the company, as long as the employee: (1) made a good faith report about potential misconduct, (2) raised a concern or sought guidance on an issue, or (3) cooperated in the investigation of potential misconduct. All reports are confidential and will be used to improve this Ethics Code and other policies maintained by the company.
Supervisors and managers that are notified of a violation of this Ethics Code or another ethical or legal violation, or who otherwise become aware of any such violation, must contact their HRBP or general counsel. Any supervisor or manager who does not report violations or allegations that appear to be violations, or who retaliates against a reporting person, will be subject to discipline. Likewise, any employee who fails to report a suspected violation or who retaliates against another employee for making such a report will be subject to discipline.
